Agents of the National Police succeeded in arresting the Dutchman in the city of León after tips from our country on the basis of a European arrest order (EAB) that was issued by the Dutch judicial authorities.

The bewildered man was found in a hotel. After his identity was verified and the validity of the arrest warrant was confirmed, he was arrested for involvement in two crimes: a robbery with violence and threat, and membership of a criminal organization.

The crimes for which he was sought took place in 2019 in Apeldoorn. According to the Dutch Justice, the man, together with a few henchmen, mistreated and threatened the victim and his family. He forced them to issue a sum of money of around 270,000 euros.

After his arrest in Léon, in the northwest of Spain, he was brought before the judge. He ordered his provisional detention, without the chance of being released on bail, hanging the investigation. The man is awaiting extradition to the Netherlands.
