The returnee Florian Niederlechner saved the favorite of the TSV 1860 Munich ascent favorite at the start of the 3rd division from a false start. The former Bundesliga striker secured the lion at 1-1 (0: 1) at Rot-Weiss Essen with his goal in the 68th minute. In the stadium on Hafenstraße there was an early shock for 1860. The defense of the Munich team could only clarify a ball insufficiently. A deflected flank headed José-Enrique Ríos Alonso (6th minute) from a short distance.
Ramien Safi (23rd) even had the huge chance of 2-0 for Essen. In 1860 there were more parties. But RWE was a little quicker. Löwen captain Jesper Verlaat (17th) and Tunay Deniz (26th) failed due to the strong Essen keeper Felix Wienand. In halftime two, the game became more hot and torn. After a long ball behind the defense chain, Niederlechner was able to lift the ball into the goal via Wienand. The home side were still dangerous with two spaces and were closer to the second goal in the final phase.
After a convincing preparation in the eighth attempt, the Munichers finally want to go back to the 2nd league. For this, the traditional club has increased significantly, in addition to Niederlechner, who played for 1860 in youth, also with ex-international Kevin Volland. With Hansa Rostock, the 1966 champion is one of the top favorites on the climb. There were once again vertebrae about investor Hasan Ismaik. First the lions reported that Ismaik would sell its shares in a Swiss family holding company, but the deal burst. The background remained mysterious until the end.
