It seems again plenty of fruit flies season in Belgium. In our country, copies of the Eastern fruit fly have also been spotted in Koekelberg, Antwerp and Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. The Eastern fruit fly is not dangerous for humans or animals, but can destroy whole fruit and vegetable parts. The federal food agency therefore requires extra vigilant.
