A double -olympic silver medalist Piotr Malachowski42, tells Today, Polish SportWefakty is competing as an amateur in the triathlon.
He says he has been training, among other things, running almost for the first time in his adults.
The 193 centimeter Jässikkä weighed 152 pounds at the top of his puck leader. After the sport, over 20 kilos of weight have fallen.
– When I stopped my career, I tried to keep my weight in 136 pounds. Today I weigh 109 pounds. My wife doesn’t recognize me because she has never seen me like this before.
– I recently measured my biceps muscle and were 42 centimeters. They have shrunk at least seven centimeters.
After stopping the reel throwing, the Polish has lived with his family in Thailand.
Of the new sport, Malachowski was enthusiastic about his friend. His friend had said that he had completed a quarter of Ironman, of which Malachowski was enthusiastic about.
-At the end of the conversation, I went to the pool and swam for a kilometer breast per hour. Then I went to the gym, ran 10 kilometers on the treadmill and finally drove on the exercise bike.
Hard workout had opened a new world for the man. As a hockey player, the training had been very different.
– I felt exhausted, but I thought it would be a great escape. I had lifted the weights in the gym for years and had had enough of it.
As an example of others
Malachowski says that at first it was difficult to practice endurance, but the run has started to run.
– I didn’t run almost any during my career, and in July I ran 130 kilometers. That’s a lot for me.
The Polish wants to act as an example for other people. He wants to show that even a big person can become a triathlon competitor.
– I want to show people that even a fat man can quickly become an athlete competing in a triathlon. At the top of my career I weighed 152 pounds. Today, I am practically a third lighter.
– I’m starting to commit to healthy lifestyles more and more. Sometimes even more than during my racing career.
Malachowki says he is training every day and committing to a careful diet. He says he is thinking more about his eating than during his racing career.
– Throughout my career, I’ve never lost weight. Nowadays I regret it because it could have helped me. Then I believed that the more I ate, the better. It is only now that I realize that after eating fast food, my body cannot withstand training.
