The fire raged in a house on the first floor of the building on Johannes Muldersstraat and has since been extinguished. One person was present in this house, who fled himself and did not suffer any serious injuries.
The fire brigade has received people in other apartments with a platform or by accompanying them with flight masks by accompanying the stairwell. In total, three people were saved in those ways, according to a spokesperson. A flight mask protects against the smoke.
A total of six people, including two children, had to be checked by healthcare staff because of the inhalation of smoke.
