A parked camper and car were completely burned out on Tuesday night on the Achilleslaan in Breugel. The fire broke out in the camper and later spread to the car. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
The camper and car were parked in parking spaces next to the Achilleslaan. The fire report arrived at the fire brigade around a quarter to five.
When the fire brigade arrived in the Achilleslaan, the fire in the camper had already sprouted. Because there were gas bottles in the camper, the fire brigade had to ‘reluctant action’ to be able to work safely. The car next to the camper could no longer be saved.
There were no injuries. It is still unclear whether gas played a role in the fire. Other vehicles that were close to the camper would also have been damaged according to the fire brigade. Exactly how much damaged vehicles are involved is unclear.
