Waschbär GmbH will be hired its business on September 30, the company said on Tuesday. Despite intensive efforts, the mail order company, who recently only concentrated on his online business, had no investor: found to continue the raccoon based on the renovation concept. Therefore, the proceedings involved in the bankruptcy have decided to stop the business company.
“In the past few months we have fought with a lot of passion and together with our customers, customers and the entire raccoon team,” says Katharina Hupfer, managing director of Waschbär GmbH. “It is all the more difficult for us to have to say: our way in this form ends.”
160 employees affected
The approximately 160 affected employees – originally 220 – have already been informed about this decision. Before that, the management was looking for the exchange with the employees: internal agencies to coordinate the next steps together and to develop a social plan.
“In the next few months we will do everything we can to make the procedure in the interests of our employees, customers and all creditors: to make it responsible inside,” continued Hupfer.
By the end of September, the focus is on selling the existing inventory. Orders, returns and other services have been ensured by then. The physical shop in Freiburg closes in September, the online shop remains open until the operating setting. The subsidiary of raccoon Switzerland also closes in the course of the year. Five employees are affected at the Swiss location.
The reason for the employment of business operations is the persistently difficult economic and industry -economic situation, which affects the level of sales. Despite considerable cost reductions, raccoon continues to achieve losses. No short to medium-term improvement is expected, which is sufficient for continuation- without a new investor: inside.
Raccoon applied for bankruptcy proceedings in self -administration at the end of May, and at that time dismantled the first 70 jobs. The procedure continues after the current announcement for the business setting.
The company is supported by the Schleich & Partner law firm in the process. Lawyer Dirk Pehl was appointed for administrator from the Schultze & Braun law firm.
