In the decisive third set, the minaur crawled through the eye of the needle and worked away three ‘Championship Points’ at a 5-4 stand in favor of Davidovich Fokina. And what kind of way! The Spaniard could not believe that he was still at the short end and was in pocket and ash afterwards.

The Minaur conquers his tenth ATP title in Washington. He took his previous previous year in Rosmalen. Davidovich Fokina is still waiting for his first ATP title. He played his fourth final, his third this year after Delray Beach and Acapulco.
