The A27 at Raamsdonksveer is open again in both directions. This is evident from the traffic information of Rijkswaterstaat. On Wednesday, a serious accident happened on the A27 in which a 59-year-old driver from Etten-Leur died. The road was closed in both directions.
The road was released around five o’clock on Thursday morning. In the direction of the Hooipolder to Oosterhout junction, the speed has been reduced to ninety kilometers per hour on the site of the accident. That is because the uprights of the guardrail still have to be replaced, a road inspector reports.
A truck drove on Wednesday afternoon in the direction of Gorinchem through the crash barrier. The driver collided with a delivery van on the other side of the road. The driver of this delivery van died.
The 51-year-old truck driver was also seriously injured. The highway was full of crash debris. In addition to storage work, oil had to be removed from the away and the crash barrier had to be repaired.
