Sabia Boulahrouz has had a German top lawyer demand that Media no longer calls her in her maiden name Engizek, Evert Santegoeds reveals. “She demanded that I would call her differently.”
Sabia Boulahrouz was a fixture for years in the German and Dutch lossom press. She became known as the wife of professional football player Khalid Boulahrouz, but only really got into the spotlights when she shared the bed in 2013 with Rafael van der Vaart, the then -fresh ex of her former best friend Sylvie Meis.

Has Evert ever had to deal with that woman? “At one point I started calling her Engizek, because that is her maiden name. Boulahrouz was also completely done with it of course, so he was already happy to call her Engizek. At a certain point a letter came from a very famous lawyer from Hamburg.”
What did he want? “He demanded that from now on I would call her Boulahrouz again in the Dutch magazines, because in Germany you have the right to always keep that name.”
Trademark
More celebrities suffer from this in Germany, says Evert. “Yes, Boris Becker is behind that. Those exes continue to call themselves Becker. You can always continue to use that name.”
He concludes: “It is a kind of trademark, she was advocated and she is still called Boulahrouz in Germany. That name represents more than Engizek.”
