Chelsea with interest in star from RB Leipzig

It is still unclear where it will go Xavi Simons this summer – but a new prospect brings fresh momentum into the personnel. As transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports, FC Chelsea is planning to accept talks with RB Leipzig on a possible obligation by the Dutch international this Tuesday. Accordingly, Simons’ brother Faustino, at the same time his consultant, had already contacted the club world champion in advance.
Simons had already announced in May to want to leave Leipzig in the summer. After the violation of Jamal Musiala, the 22-year-old was last discussed at Bayern. Munich sports director Max Eberl knows the midfielder well from Leipzig’s times: He once brought Simons to Saxony.
Simons has been part of the Leipziger squad since January. Previously, he was loaned by Paris Saint-Germain before RB signed him for a transfer fee of 50 million euros at the beginning of the year-not included possible bonus payments.
Those responsible in Leipzig promised a record transfer by the obligation. But Simon’s development last stagnated that Leipzig missed international business for the first time in his Bundesliga history-also a trigger for his desire to change.
It is open whether there is a transfer to the Premier League. Chelsea would have to give up players beforehand in order to be able to implement the change. However, according to the report, the commitment of the Swedish attacker Viktor Gyöker was first priority for the “Gunners” – as an alternative to Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško, which is also traded in London.
