In fact, Italy closed in second place in the final medal, with 22 overall medals (10 gold, 6 silver, 6 bronzes), just behind Great Britain, which has obtained the same golds but two more silver. Italy has dominated the junior team chase, conquering gold in the male category with Cornacchini, Magnotti, Colombo, Matteoli and Ferrari, and in the female one with Sanarini, Bianchi, Rossignoli, Pegolo and Holt. On the last day, the silver of Chantal Pegolo and Linda Sanarini arrived in the Madison women Juniors behind the British abigals Miller and Erin Boothman, and by Julian Bortolami and Riccardo Colombo in the men’s test behind the Belgians Thor Michielsen and Witse Bertsel.
