With the expansion of the Berlin Fashion X project to the Korean market, the Fashion Council Germany, in cooperation with the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Businesses, is intensifying its activities for international market development for emerging fashion and Accesoireesigne: Inside. In addition to the already announced delegation trip to Seoul in South Korea, a trip to Tokyo will take place in Japan from November 3rd to November 7th. The aim of the initiative is to make access to international markets easier for the participating brands and to sustainably strengthen the visibility and exportability of Berlin fashion brands.

The expansion to the Asian market is an important step towards internationalization. Tokyo and Seoul have been among the most relevant Asian cities in the fashion sector for several years and have been establishing themselves as international fashion metropolises. The Fashion Council Germany ties in with existing relationships to South Korea and Japan, which have been established in the past through the increasing success of Berlin Fashion Week. The growing interest of the Japanese market in German brand was particularly motivation to expand the project to Tokyo.

Building on this positive momentum, a exploratory trip will be carried out in August to gain other partners on site: inside, potential showroom locations and strategic cooperation opportunities for the project. The delegation trip to Japan will then take place at the beginning of November – the exact data will be announced promptly. Interested designers: Inside and brands can apply for participation by August 17 by the following link. The final participants are then selected from all submissions.

At the same time, the preparations of the delegation trip to Seoul, which takes place from 01.1 to September 05, go into the final phase. The following 12 brands will be part of the delegation: Balletshofer, Clara Colette Miramon, Danny Reinke, Dawn Denim, Gerrit Jacob, Haderlump Atelier Berlin, Isabella Rudzki, Lueder, Richert, Sia Arnika, Unvain Studios and William fan.

A special highlight of the trip will be the showroom in cooperation with MCM, which enables the designer to present their collections from a wide audience from buyer: inside, press, stakeholders: inside and talents of the Korean fashion scene. In addition to the showroom, the delegation – accompanied by Michael Biel, Berlin State Secretary for Economy – has the opportunity to visit selected retail spaces, local fashion brands, sales agencies and press representations. The participants: In this way, not only get access to important industry contacts, but also sustainable impulses for innovation, positioning and the international expansion of your brand.
