Annemarie de Kerner, Royalty Expert of RTL, shows in an Insta video how it works behind the scenes when you interview the royal couple. “Who are these gloves?” Asks Máxima.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima regularly appear in front of the nose of the press to have a chat or simply pose photogenically. That is rarely spontaneous: the camera crews are already set up, the microphones are ready and even the place where Máxima has to park her royal heels is conceived in advance.

Gloves

To minimize the chaos, markings are placed on the floor, ranging from tape to sticks, and in the case of Annemarie the Kunders BackstageFilmpje: any pair of gloves.

In the video we see the royal couple friendly thanking the press after a short maintenance, but then her gaze suddenly lingers on something on her feet. She frowns, points down and asks slightly surprised: “Those are the gloves of?” Annemarie, visibly experienced in this kind of royalty logistics, bends forward and picks them up.

Behind the Scenen

This is nice to see for people, writes Annemarie. “Piece Behind the Scenes of RTL Boulevard. The royal couple regularly speak to the press (or pose for a photo). We will all wait until the royal couple arrives.”

“It is nice that they know exactly where they should be, and so sometimes something is laid on the floor. A stick or a piece of tape, for example or gloves. 🧤”
