As runner -up Red Bull Salzburg announced on Monday evening, the buyback clause for Amar Dedic was drawn at Olympique Marseille. However, the Bosnian full -back moves directly to Portugal to Benfica Lisbon, where he receives a contract running until 2030.

Dedic only moved to France in February. Since Salzburg was not allowed to lend other players, they agreed with the French on a model with a buyback option. In Marseille, Dedic only came ten times, so that Salzburg was also allowed to activate the option due to a lack of playing time. Benfica receives a transfer of over 10 million euros.

“After his time at Olympique Marseille it was clear to both sides that Amar would no longer return to Salzburg and pursued other goals. His move to Benfica is a great step that is also happy as a club. Another of our players made it through the Salzburger Weg into one of the European top leagues. We wish Amar all the best, health and sporting success!
