It should be a happy racing weekend, but some visitors to the Moto-GP at the Sachsenring apparently had other things in mind. Now the police are investigating.

The Sachsenring is what was once the Hockenheimring for Formula 1-a Mecca for German full gas fans for Formula 1. Although again this year did not belong to the World Cup participant field, 256,441 spectators flocked to the racetrack in Hohenstein-Ernstthal in Saxony. On Sunday, the visitor record was broken again during the success of the royal class dominator Marc Márquez.

Already on Friday there were unsightly scenes on the race track. So the organizers of the race were made aware of a man on Friday evening, who showed themselves with a rubber mask that showed Adolf Hitler’s portrait, as well as a T-shirt with the inscription “Adolf 8” [Anm.: Die 8 steht für den Buchstaben H = Adolf Hitler] Hung at a beer stand and obviously in a good mood for selfies with bystanding racing fans.

According to the Zwickau police department, police officers called, the organizer of the race granted the man ban. The criminal police are now investigating suspicion of using indicators of unconstitutional organizations. “Something like this does not belong on the race track. When we learned about the incident, we reacted immediately and intervened hard,” said Sachsenring Event Manager Lutz Oeserder “Bild” newspaper.

However, there were also different eyewitness reports from the online platform Reddit. Accordingly, the police officers who had added had become a picture of the situation in peace and only intervened later. The police themselves announced in their communication that the surrounding guests had not stopped the 40-year-old Thuringian, but laughed at his Nazi appearance.

According to the investigative authorities, this was not the only incident on the racing weekend at the Sachsenring. The police registered a total of 60 crimes, four of which were related to the use of anti -constitutional symbols.
