Trump announces Mission Patriot rockets for Ukraine
US President Donald Trump is going to send Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine so that it can defend itself against Russian attacks. He announced this on Sunday against journalists at the Air Force Base Andrews in Maryland, just outside Washington.
“We will send them patriots, which they desperately need,” said the president. Trump did not say how many rockets he is going to send. He criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, according to him, “talks nicely and send bombs in the evening”.
Trump said the US would not pay for it. Among other things, Germany declared himself willing to buy Patriots for Ukraine last week. The rockets can be used to shoot aircraft, helicopters, drones and rockets from the sky.
On Monday, Trump is expected to announce a new plan to send attack weapons to Ukraine, according to the news site Axios, which relies on two anonymous sources that are well aware.
