The relationship between Albert Verlinde and Bridget Maasland is very, very bad. Although she started fifteen years ago as his permanent replacement at RTL Boulevard, the two hardly have any common ground. He started a kind of mini-hetze against Bridget last year by portraying her as an attention grabber, who just doesn’t stop talking about her ex André Hazes Jr.

Albert about Bridget

It’s bad blood in Bridget. At the beginning of this year, she sided with Humberto Tan in his conflict with Albert. She found the excuses Albert eventually came up with “a little mustard after the meal.” According to her, it is therefore good that Humberto has left his declaration against Albert. “Why would you withdraw it all at once?”

Is Albert a little pissed off that Bridget is encouraging a complaint against Albert on national television? When asked if he thinks it’s bland of her, Albert says in the Weekend: “No, because in a program I also say everything if someone else has done something.”

very curt

To no other question in the interview does Albert give such a short answer as to this question about Bridget. He later touches her briefly when he talks about his recent TV encounter with Bram Moszkowicz.

Albert: “That doesn’t mean I don’t like Bram, but I did think: well, come on. It doesn’t have to be that way. And rightly so. Bridget can say what she wants about anyone, Bram can say the same, and so can I. You have to realize that of course these are not hate campaigns back and forth. They are comments made in opinion programs.”

Show news

Because of Bram, but also because of a controversial colleague like Anouk Smulders, Shownieuws has lost a lot of its credibility. They really rub too much against the celebrities they discuss, without letting the viewer know.

Does Albert understand that Shownieuws is being criticized so much? “Sometimes I think that criticism is justified. Then I indeed think that something is not happy and well chosen, but very often I think: in addition to information about showbiz, there is also an opinion and the program succeeds in that.”

Humberto

Back to the Humberto riot. Albert has maliciously made the talk show host suspicious by suggesting in the slipstream of the Voice abuse riot that Humberto is also a pervert.

Albert has often tried to call Humberto, but he no longer picks up. “But I hope that at some point there will come a point when we can look at each other and speak out.”
