At the European Amateur Team Championship, the men’s national team graduated champion conquering an incredible gold in the final, beating Denmark 6.5-0.5. Exceptional performance by our boys testifying to the great work done by Giovanni Binaghi (Monticello), Riccardo Fantinelli (Fioranello), Michele Ferrero (Turin), Biagio Andrea Gagliardi (Olgiata), Julien Paltrinieri (Bogogno) and Filippo Ponzano (Turin). This is the second title for the Azzurri in the Amateur championship, now in its 42nd edition, after the Monticello Golf Club even dating back to the last century, year 1999. A game without history at the Killarney Golf & Fishing Club of Mahony’s Point in Ireland: first the 2-0 matured thanks to Binaghi/Gagliardi and Ponzano/Ferrero. Match that continues to be one-way even in the individuals with the partial of 4.5-0.5. The path of the Azzurri reaches the peak after beating France in the quarterfinals and England in the semifinal.
