Jannik Sinner destroyed Novak Djokovic’s dream of the 25th Grand Slam title in Wimbledon and made a Kracher final against Carlos Alcaraz perfectly.

The Italian world rankings defeated the Grand Slam record champion in London with no major problems with 6: 3, 6: 3, 6: 4 and will meet Roland Garros on his permanent rival Alcaraz on Sunday, as was already the case five weeks ago.

While Djokovic missed his seventh Wimbledon final in a row, Sinner is in the final for the first time at Church Road. In the round of 16, he had already stood shortly before the end and benefited from the injury-related task of his opponent Grigor Dimitrov at a 0: 2 set deficit. On Friday he wore a bandage on the right arm due to his own elbow problems, which seemed not to affect him.

For Djokovic this is a bit of disappointment. The seven-time tournament winner wanted to catch up with his long-standing permanent rival Roger Federer (8), but lost a Wimbledon semi-final for the first time since 2012. On the hunt for the sole Grand slam record, which he still shares with the Australian Margaret Court, the 38-year-old gradually runs away.

Tennis: Sinner reaches for the fourth major title

Sinner, who had failed in Djokovic in the semasue classic in 2023, reaches for his fourth major title. He has all won his previous three Grand Slam titles on hard court. He has lost the last five games against Alcaraz, who won his semi -finals against Taylor Fritz in four sets. In Paris he could not use three match balls for triumph. Now he gets the chance to revenge against the defending champion.

With Djokovic, the South Tyrolean had hardly any problems on Friday. At temperatures above 30 degrees, the Serb did not work on the height and had little to oppose the powerful game from Sinner from the start. Djokovic collected an early break in the first two sets and could never seriously endanger Sinner. Even a 3-0 lead in the third set did not help, Sinner came back and deservedly moved into the final.
