Sido has launched a new glasses collection. The models should not only show Sido’s view of the world, but also show us what is made forever: places, memories, values. The glasses are dedicated to his family – and the “three most important women” of his life.
From the mask to the sungers. What is the advantage for you not to look through a mask, but sunglasses?
Sido: Do you know what? Since I wore the mask for the first time, I haven’t seen anything about it. I’m actually not a masking carrier, I am wearing glasses. And I’ve never worn contact lenses. So, I never managed to put my eyes in the eye to put on such a contact lens. That means: Whenever I cut this mask, I don’t see anything. Recognize nothing. I don’t recognize faces correctly and so on. This is of course the advantage of glasses: that I see something. My sunglasses always have strength, so, right? You can see that with mine!
You have designed three new glasses models, dedicated to the “three most important women in my life”. Which woman shaped you the most?
My mother. My mother shaped me the most. She always hewn into my face – nonsense! No, no, no, write it down if you want – but that’s not true. My mother gave me all my values. Has made me such a good person. Always made sure that Jesus is in my life.
What is your favorite car?
I don’t have a favorite car at all. I’m not such a car freak. I don’t care. I need a car that brings me from A to B. Best one where I can sit at the back right – but actually I don’t care. I have no driver’s license myself.
Which of your own songs do you like best?
Probably always the one I’m doing. But spontaneously, and when it comes to a current one: “Astronaut”.
In the school class we had made a survey: “Which song is your favorite song?” And “Astronaut” was also chosen.

Yes, on the one.

Which is your favorite sun glasses?
My favorite glass glasses are my own – it is called “Berlin”. This is the model I wear, just as sunglasses. I also wear them at every concert.
If you were as old as we are now, ten or eleven: Would you do everything exactly, lead your life as you did?
Yes. And do you know why? If you ask me now: how happy am I? How great, how well do I feel? Then I would tell you: 10 out of 10 – now. That means: everything that happened in my past had to be so so that I am now 10 out of 10. So I don’t regret anything. None of what was at 10 or so 11 or something. Things have happened in my life that shouldn’t have been – you say, you think. But they had to be so so that I can say today: I feel 10 out of 10.
Do you like Berlin actually really?
Why not? Yes, I love Berlin. Stop, do you mean my glasses called “Berlin” – or do you mean the city?
The city.
Yes, I like, I love. I love Berlin. Sometimes I think it is a little too full and too much and too dirty and too muffle, and people are too grumpy and so. But somehow it is like this: when I’m in another city, it is exactly what I miss – as Berlin is.
