Eintracht Braunschweig turned his back on Lennart Grill last season after just half a year. Now the goalkeeper has found another club.
At Eintracht Braunschweig it was nothing more than a misunderstanding: after only half a year, goalkeeper Lennart Grill left the Löwenstadt again last winter. Previously, after nine games and some shaky appearances, he had lost his regular place in the goal of Eintracht. The farewell was the logical step. It went loan towards Greuther Fürth.
After his end of the contract with the Franks and the associated return to his regular club Union Berlin, the 26 -year -old goalkeeper has now found a new club again. Grill is drawn from the capital to Braunschweig’s second division competitor Dynamo Dresden. This was announced by the promoted team on Wednesday afternoon.
“We are pleased that Lennart decided on the way together with us,” says Dresden’s sports manager Thomas Brendel about an obligation. “With his quality and experience from the missions in the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga, he brings everything to strengthen our goalkeeper team and further increase the level.”
It is questionable whether grill rises to number one in the Saxons and thus gets significantly more operational time than in Köpenick. He has to assert himself against Tim Schreiber and Daniel Mesenhöfer. Since moving to Berlin in 2022, Grill did not play a major role in the Iron. He only guarded the FCU’s goal eight times.
That is why the former U21 international was on loan in the 2nd Bundesliga, first at VfL Osnabrück, then in Braunschweig and during the second half of 2024/25 in Fürth.
The new change to the German House of Commons was apparently in the interests of Grill. Union managing director of professional football, Horst Heldt, explains: “We wanted to meet his wish for a clear sporting perspective and wish him good luck and all the best for him.”
