Cycling for relaxation and tranquility
Daniël Kristel is homeless. He had squatted a garden shed, but is now sleeping outside again. “Cycling gives me relaxation and peace in my head,” he says. He recently became champion of the annual Streetwise Cycle Race. Now he works as a volunteer in the workplace. “This keeps me off the street and the people who come here give me courage to get through.”
Then it’s time to get on the bike. Presenter Isabella Prins is in donated clothing on a donated racing bike. Koen Polder is very grateful to all givers and thinks it has created a place where people feel at home and where they can walk away from all the misery.
