Because of a muscle injury in the calf, striker Marvin Ducksch will be missing from the Bundesliga club Werder Bremen for several weeks.
The 31-year-old had had to stop the new season on Monday after just a few exercises. Now an MRI examination in the Bremen Paracelsus Clinic confirmed the severity of the injury.
“This is bitter for us, but especially for Marvin, since he will miss important weeks in preparation,” said the new coach Horst Steffen.
Ducksch is one of the players who actually want to leave Bremen this summer. A transfer of the best Werder goalkeeper of the past two years has become a bit less likely due to this injury.
