At the Conference League match on 5 October 2023 things got out of hand between supporters of Legia and the police. Hundreds of fans without a card stormed the branch, climbed over fences and destroyed gates to come in.

A small group of ME’ers tried to get the situation under control, but was powerless towards the fans. Some lost their baton, which was then used against them.

The police used tear gas to defend themselves. Three Me people were injured: one of them was even beaten unconscious. Later they explained that they felt like rats in the fall.

‘ME-members have out of death’ fears’

Five of these Legia fans were in court today and all five participated in the open violence to the police, the court says. “Several ME-members have been injured and many have out of death. Some of them are struggling to this day with the consequences of the violence.”

The court blames the Legia fans very much and therefore imposes a prison sentence of eight months on all five, of which five months are conditional.

One of them receives an unconditional punishment of four months, because his share in violence was even more serious, according to the court. He has beaten several ME people with a baton.

In addition to the prison sentences, the five suspects must also pay compensation to the ME’ers.
