Topi Rönni21, will move to the Hungarian club Ferencváros next season. The Budapest Society announced this on their website.
Ferencváros plays in Austria’s multinational Icehl League.
Rönni played last season in the Slovak League.
Ferencváros will also represent at least the defender from the Finns next season Paavo Tyni and an attacker Donald Kestilä.
The contract was terminated
In April, Rönni signed an agreement with Vaasa Sport, but the two -year contract was terminated at Rönn’s initiative.
In March 2024, Rönni was sentenced to a suspended imprisonment for the year for a young person rape as a young person.
Rönni and Sport terminated their two -year contract in early May.
– I have requested to terminate the contract to allow the team to prepare for the upcoming reel season in peace. The club and the club community are always larger than a single player and by no means wanted to cause damage to the Vaasa Sport and its partners.
Rönni received a conditional sentence for his work. The crime took place in 2021, when Rönni was 17 years old.
– I still regret my actions and the suffering it causes to the victim. I have received and suffered my judgment before the law, giving the public my face and name. I sincerely hope that sometimes I can be a full member of the Finnish ice hockey community, Rönni said in a Sport release.
After Rönn’s 2024 sentence, he was fired from his breeding club Tappara. The NHL club Calgary Flames, who booked Rönn’s 2022 booking in the second round, also dismissed the player.
