Telstar back from The Hague empty-handed

Telstar has no points left from the make-up match against ADO Den Haag. The Velsenaren played an excellent first half, but lost the game in the second part. Glynor Plet scored the only goal for Telstar.

Trainer Andries Jonker had changed his winning formation from last Friday in two places. Anwar Bensabouh was allowed to start in the back, because Roscello Vlijter was missing due to international obligations. Yassine Zakir replaced Jay Kruiver who started on the bench.

In the first half, in front of 4,123 spectators, Telstar was certainly not inferior to the number seven of the first division. The first big chance was for Ozan Kökcü. He received the ball from Rashaan Fernandes, but shot the ball over the goal of ADO Den Haag keeper Alessandro Damen.

Miraculous miss

In the 28th minute, Sven van Doorm was able to approach the goalkeeper alone, but Damen kept a cool head and prevented the 0-1 with a fine save. Just before half time, Glynor Plet got the chance to put his team in the lead. The Telstar captain failed to tap the ball in one meter from the goal. Miraculously, Plet hit the bar.

ADO Den Haag, until then hardly dangerous, had two good chances in the final minutes via Samy Bourard and Thomas Verheydt, but in both cases the Telstar defense managed to defuse the attack in the nick of time.

penalty kick

Shortly after the break, ADO Den Haag received a penalty. Özgür Aktas and Verheydt held each other in the box, after which referee Robin Hensgens pointed to the spot. Verheydt took advantage of this opportunity, his 22nd goal of the season. In the minutes after, ADO had good chances to double the score, but Dhoraso Klas (over) and Verheydt (outside of the post) missed, while Koeman jr. saved on a Bourard header and a long shot from Klas.

The equalizer came out of nowhere in the 82nd minute. Keeper Damen passed under a cross from Zakir, after which Giovanni put the ball back to Plet, who this time managed to score from close range: 1-1. For Plet his 75th goal in his career in the first division.

slipper

Amar Catic then gave ADO the victory. He took advantage of a slip from substitute Delvechio Blackson and then pushed the ball past Koeman. Final score: 2-1.
