…better and better!

With the seasons 1948/49 and 1949/50, two other historical seasons of the Swiss Super League, then still National League A, are available in the transfer market database. FC Lugano became champions, which was the last championship title to date, and the Servette FC, which is still in 17 trophies.

In 1948/49, the first season of the later record goal shooter was the Super League, Jacques Fatton, in which he became a top scorer. Overall, he succeeded three times. The attacker, who died in 2011, helped a final sprint of 13 goals in the last seven games of the season.

With the season, the 245 goals of Basel’s record goal scorers in the Super League, Josef Hügi, are now in the database. In addition, that was the first season of the German coach Theodor Lohrmann at FC Zurich. He should be 150 games on the FCZ’s sidelines – 129 in the league and 21 in the cup, but the latter is still missing in the database.

In 1949/50, Fatton also secured the title as the top scorer of the league, in total it should be 273 hits over the course of time. Lohrmann was still on the sidelines of FC Zurich, who became sixth with his team after a fifth place that year. The two promoters FC Bern and FC St. Gallen, on the other hand, had to take their way to the then National League B after just one year.
