For the second time in a short time, a porpoise calf was found on the coast by passers -by. The animal was found alive between Bergen and Egmond aan Zee. Reception SOS Dolphin reports on social media that they sent an ambulance to the calf, which was 83 centimeters in size and weighed 9.3 kilos.

Once in the shelter the animal died. It goes for research into the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Utrecht. The shelter hopes that there will be clear from the section how the animal has been orphaned.

Yesterday, in the southern part of the Slufter nature reserve on Texel, one highly reduced porpoise calf found. According to SOS Dolphin, the calf was still ‘very young’ and completely dependent on the mother, so that daycare was not possible. “The very cool breast milk is not easy to imitate,” says the shelter on their Facebook page. “Unfortunately, there was no other option than to put the calf to sleep”.

In June, passers -by found a dead porpoise calf On the beach of Zandvoort.
