The FC fell into the colorful fray in the cathedral city on Sunday. Together with the fan club “The other way around Rut-Wiess”, the Bundesliga club demonstrated at the CSD.

Colorful, louder, cheerful: On Sunday, Cologne turned into a sea of colors again. At the grand finale of the Colognepride, the cathedral city was in a state of emergency despite the pouring rain – and right in the middle: 1. FC Köln, which once again showed flag for diversity and tolerance.

For the eleventh time, the traditional club was rolling along at the CSD parade. For the many participants, FC was seen at car position 48-a tribute to the FC founding year 1948. More than a million people lined the streets, cheered, danced, celebrated. And the 1. FC Köln was not only a fence, but even with a lot of passion at the start.

The Bundesliga club in Cologne’s city center was already present in the days before: With its own small FC arena on the corner of Pipinstrasse/before St. Martin, there were insights into blind football and diversity merch to touch.

On the CSD car, President Werner Wolf, Vice President Carsten Wettich, Managing Director Philipp Türoff, defender Timo Hübers, women’s head coach Britta Carlson and international Marina Hegering showed clear edge against exclusion. The FC was supported by the Queeren Fanklub “The other way around Rut-Wiess”, which has been enthusiastic about colorful commitment for years.

Around 350 FC fans, members and employees proudly marched through the Cologne city center in red-whites or colorful outfits, decorated with rainbow accessories. Clear message: Diversity is our strength. The FC not only shows attitude on the pitch, but also on the street – so its motto.

“The CSD is a great experience every year,” said FC captain Hübers, who was once again part of the parade. “It was nice to see how many people took part in the CSD demo parade despite the bad weather. We would like to set an example for equality and acceptance.”

It is fascinating to see how many people support these values every year and converted the CSD demo into a colorful firm. At 11.30 a.m. the parade started on Sunday on the Deutzer Bridge. Then it went over the Schildergasse and the Neumarkt in the middle of the city center. A total of 1.1 million people came.
