More than a week ago, the court in Haarlem forbade a 24-hour strike of the KLM soil staff. That judge also ruled that that action was too drastic due to all possible safety problems that can arise at Schiphol. Subsequently, the unions had announced an eight -hour strike for next Wednesday. With a new summary proceedings, KLM hoped to move the judge to prohibit this new promotion.
‘Positive for passengers’
According to the airline, the prohibition of the judge is ‘positive for all passengers who will travel with us next Wednesday and for KLM as a company’. Schiphol reports this in a response. “We can now continue to perform our operation safely.”
“But the underlying problem is not solved. We can find the answer to this at the table, not in the event of a strike. It is now important to start a conversation with all trade unions as quickly as possible and to come to agreements together.
