The complaint was submitted on Monday 30 June through lawyer Anthony Godfroid. According to Animal Rights, the cattle would have received insufficient care after the fire. “The animals survived the fire, but did not seem to get medical worries in the following weeks,” says campaign leader Els Van Campenhout.
Lawyer Godfroid asks himself questions about follow -up: “If I read that a veterinarian claims that everything is done to avoid unnecessary suffering, then I hardly understand that on the basis of the images we have seen.” The Public Prosecution Service of Ypres is now investigating the complaint. That investigation can take a few months.
