Alberto Stegeman refers to critics such as Catherine Keyl who claim that he has only done the pedo-zero about a Dutch celebrity for publicity. “Of course that is not the case,” he shouts.

It caused an incredible media: the unveiling of Alberto Stegeman that he has seen a very well -known Dutchman in an aid group for pedophiles. Who it is? He doesn’t want to say that, except that it is a man and we know him as a talk show guest. Speculating could then start – in particular one specific name is now circulating a lot.

Publicity stunt

Catherine Keyl thinks it is very misplaced that Alberto has brought this out. Like many other critics, she thinks the presenter should have kept his mouth shut. “Yes, because he doesn’t mention a man and horse. If you say A, you also have to say B. It is a publicity stunt for his book.”

Is it indeed a publicity stunt? Alberto firmly denies that. He says in the Weekend: “Of course I did not write it down for the sale of the book. All people who know me know that it is not.”

Passage

Alberto only wanted to explain how things sometimes work behind the scenes. In this case, the images of the Dutch celebrity in question were too grainy to bring the revelation, and they don’t do that.

“I wanted to make a book in which I tell about the choices we have to make, what happened behind the scenes, the difficulties we encounter: in that light this was only a passage in the book, which was then highlighted. But there are more passages in it that also have to do with that.”

Out

Afterwards, does Alberto regret the pedo disclosure? “You have little influence on what happens afterwards. I have decided to write it down the way I did it.”

“If people then think something about it, it is up to those people. A lot has also been said and written that really is not right. This made that discussion even bigger. But I want to leave it at that.”
