The Portuguese football professional Diogo Jota from Liverpool and his brother died in a traffic accident.
The Spanish police and the Portuguese football association confirmed the death of the 28 -year -old player. “The Portuguese Football Association and the entire Portuguese football are deeply shaken about the death of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva in Spain this morning”the association said on Wednesday (03.07.2025).
He was not just a fantastic player “But also an extraordinary person who was respected by all his fellow and opposites who radiated an infectious joy and was a reference point in his community.”
Ronaldo writes: “That doesn’t make sense”
The Liverpool FC announced that they were all “Shaked about the tragic death of Diogo Jota”. The club asked “Respect the privacy of the family, friends, teammates and club employees of Diogo and André while trying to deal with this unimaginable loss. We will continue to send you our full support.”
Diogo Jota had only married about two weeks ago. He left his wife and three children. “That makes no sense”wrote Cristiano Ronaldo, who had played with Jota in Portugal’s national team, on Instagram. He wishes the bereaved “All power of the world”.
Hardly even Jota’s 25 -year -old brother in the accident. He played in the second Portuguese league for FC Penafiel.

Jota played for Liverpool since September 2020, and during this time he was used in 182 competitive games in which he scored 65 goals (26 templates). Last season Jota became the “LFC” English champion.
The attacker played 49 caps for Portugal. He scored 14 goals. A few weeks ago, he and his team won the Nations League by winning the penalty shootout against Spain. Car was on fire
According to the police, Jota and his brother were traveling with a Lamborghini on Autobahn 52 in the Zamora region in the northwest of Spain at the time of the accident. Due to a tire space, the vehicle had strayed from the street and then caught fire.
