He still had so much up with Liverpool FC. But Diogo Jota died in a car accident. Now the Portuguese club mourns as well as world football.

The Premier League club wrote on its website: “The Liverpool Football Club was destroyed by the tragic death of Diogo Jota. The club was informed that the 28-year-old and his brother André died in Spain after a traffic accident.”

The “Reds” also wrote: “At that time, FC Liverpool will not make any further comments and ask that the privacy of Diogo and André’s family, friends, teammates and club employees will be respected while trying to process an unimaginable loss.”

There were also other reactions, such as those of the Portuguese Football Association. The latter wrote on the X platform that the “entire Portuguese football” was “deeply shaken” about the death of Diogo and André Jota. The association also wrote on Instagram: “We have lost two champions. Your death is irreparable losses for Portuguese football, and we will do everything we can to honor your legacy every day.”

The DFB also sent condolences under the post: “Our thoughts are with his family, his relatives and the Portuguese football association.” In addition, a French club also commented: “FC Nantes expresses his deepest sympathy for the Portuguese national team after the death of Diogo Jota and his brother.” Just like the Spanish club Ud Almería: “We join the pain of world football.”
