In most provinces there are fewer parks with holiday homes than a year earlier. In Drenthe, that decrease is relatively greatest.

This year our province has 334 parks with holiday homes. That is 11 less than a year earlier, or a decrease of 3.2 percent. This is followed by Limburg (2.7 percent) and Noord-Holland (2.4 percent).

In absolute numbers, most parks disappeared in Gelderland (15). That province also has the most built -up holiday parks (734) in the country.

For the first time since the Corona year 2020, more holiday homes have been sold. In total, last year, nearly 4600 holiday homes changed ownership, 15 percent more than in 2023.

According to the Land Registry, the demand for holiday homes has increased in recent years due to aging, higher incomes, rising housing prices and the shortage in the housing market. “There is increasing pressure on governments to allow temporary or permanent residence on holiday parks,” the body said.
