Former DFB defender Arne Friedrich reports on a curious incident during a trip by Deutsche Bahn. The company reacts directly.
Unpleasant incident for ex-international Arne Friedrich: On Wednesday evening, the 46-year-old reported on Instagram about a breakdown during a trip in the ICE from Hamburg to Berlin, posted a photo in his story. To see on it: part of the wagon where Friedrich sat – and in which part of the ceiling cladding had obviously loosened. And that probably above the place of the 82-time DFB player.
“Ok, joke aside. But that’s not funny. The roof almost fell on my head,” Friedrich wrote. Shortly after the incident, Friedrich was able to joke again. “The train has a roof damage,” quotes it, the “picture”- but at the same time he emphasized: “Everything is fine. Fortunately, nothing happened.” DSS train staff “looked after directly and was extremely friendly.”
The “Bild” continued: The on -board staff had again fastened the flap while driving that the ICE was then checked at the factory.
A spokeswoman for the Deutsche Bahn told the newspaper that the fallen part was a maintenance flap. This has risen, but was secured by a fishing rope. “At no time there was a risk of injury for travelers,” said the train. Friedrich apologizes for the fright and wanted to contact him personally.
Friedrich ended his career in 2013. In addition to 82 international matches for the DFB team, the defender played at the longest for Hertha BSC at the club level, the Berliner jersey wore from 2002 to 2010 (288 competitive games). Further Bundesliga station: VfL Wolfsburg (2010-11).
