Jeffrey Herlings has been injured again. The Motocrosser from Oploo broke his collarbone during a training on Monday and was probably eliminated for four to six weeks. Due to the fall, the season of Herlings is sporty to the buttons. “Due to an earlier injury, I could no longer become a world champion, but the third place is now also out of sight.”

Jeffrey Herlings has not been easy in recent years. He is struggling from one injury to the other and even now the accident was in a small corner again. This time during a training in Arnhem.

“I have fallen as an old woman,” says the five -time world champion from Oploo. “I made a turn and actually just fell over. Very innocent on my side, but because of the pressure my collarbone broke. I felt that immediately.”

“It is a neat break, so we see if it heals without surgery,” Herlings continues. “On Monday, photos will be taken again and then we know more. Packs it positively, I hope to be on the motorcycle again somewhere between four and six weeks. And otherwise surgery will still be operated.”

“Of course I don’t like the injury, but it’s not a disaster either”

The chunks pilot will at least miss the GP in Finland next week and probably also on July 27 in the Czech Republic. Earlier this season he also missed three games due to a knee injury. A drama for the stand in the world championship.

“Of course I don’t like the injury, but it is not a disaster,” Herlings confesses. “Because I missed the season start, I was no longer driving for the title. A third place had still been there, and had been nice, but it is now also out of sight. And whether I am still sixth, fourth, third or ninth, I am not interested in the world title and this season was actually lost in January.”

Everything that Herlings will soon remain his daily victories, something he had been working on lately. But the collarbone injury will give him a backlog again. “It’s a bit of a fuck again,” says Herlings. “But I hope to be back at the start as soon as possible. Fortunately, a collarbone fracture is an injury that works out one hundred percent. And actually I am already happy that I am not in much pain. Well, I’m going to make the best of it this season.”
