For the Czech Republic Biathlon Star Markéta Davidová, the past winter was not according to plan at all, at the end of March she had to undergo an operation. Now the ex-world champion has taken an important step towards season 2025/26. Nevertheless, the trainers stay on the brake with one hand.

Biathlon star Markéta Davidová was able to train with the Czech national team again for the first time after their herniated disc operation in March. “It was a great training camp for Markéta,” head coach Lukás Dostál is quoted in a message from the association after a three -week Camp of the Czechs.

The 28-year-old Davidová had to interrupt the 2024/25 biathlon season early due to back problems, and the World Cup in Lenzerheide missed them. Although the Czech dared to a comeback at the home World Cup in Nove Mesto in Nove Mesto in March, but then pulled the ripcord and let himself be operated on.

After a few weeks with prescribed calm, the individual world champion from 2021 in May was able to start with slight training again.

Czechs remain “carefully” at Davidová

Davidová was now able to complete a training program tailored to her needs. Dostál emphasizes: “We continue to stay careful and advise ourselves with specialists. Of course she had to make a few small adjustments in training, but it looked really good.”

Meanwhile, her team colleague Jessica Jislova worried. “She was very tired after the season and got sick. With slight restrictions, she took part in almost all training sessions, but is not one hundred percent fit. Now she needs peace and will also undergo some tests,” said the biathlon coach.

The Czech team was initially traveling at 1,800 meters in Livigno, Italy. Then the paths of men who moved to Isolaccio separated and the women who traveled to Switzerland to Lenzerheide for two weeks. The focus in Livigno was on the shooting training, in Lenzerheide it was trained holistically.
