Young racers Tim Tramnitz crowned a furious catch -up with a podium on Sunday at the main race of Formula 3 in Austria. Afterwards, the 20-year-old was satisfied, but at the same time it also looked at what he could improve next time.
Third place after starting place 17: Red Bull-Junior Tim Tramnitz consolidated its third place in the overall ranking on Sunday morning in Austria.
“P3 in the main race in Austria – that is definitely a good race,” said Hamburg proudly afterwards: “From 17th place on the podium feels very good.”
Tramnitz drove a strong first round after the start and was able to make up for a few positions. The youngster praised his car’s speed, and he had “quite well” under control, so that he could “overtake one at a time”.
“Megaviel was fun. Then the podium came closer and closer at some point and of course you try to tease the last bit out. So everything went very well, so I am satisfied to end the weekend like this,” cheered the Formula 3 driver, who starts for MP Motorsport.
Tramnitz is already looking ahead: improve qualifying performance
Nevertheless, Tramnitz also knows that he only made life difficult for life through qualifying. Therefore, he immediately focused on the next race: “Now it is time to work on qualifying and start the weekend in Silverstone on Friday.” The seventh of a total of ten races takes place in Great Britain.

Campos driver Nikola Tsolow celebrated the victory in Austria, who is a rank ahead of Tramnitz in the classification of the young series. One point is missing Tsolow (114) on leader Rafael Camara (Brazil/Trident). In addition, after the sprint the day before, the Bulgarian had subsequently slipped to third place because Ugo Ugochukwu (USA/Prema) then got a time penalty.
Meanwhile, the German motorsport talent Tramnitz was seventh place on Saturday.
