The country under the West Frisian Dijk near Eenigenburg was still there at the beginning of this year as a tight turf. In the meantime, the poppies, sunflowers and cornflowers show themselves in full and it lives up to the name showpiece.

After two years of hard work, the BioLand Foundation sees that all the efforts pays off. With a lot of help from others, they managed to get enough money together in two years to buy the country.

“Everything is blooming beautifully. It has been sown by the De Lepelaar organic farm. This will remain the case for the time being. Before we can really harvest, we are two, three years later. Only then is it organic and we can also eat it,” explains Lisa Johnson, one of the initiators of what a biodiversity should become.

Lenders large and small

Together with Maaike Wijnberg and Jaap Rengersen, she founded Friends of Biooland Foundation. Together with all participants, the volunteers and lenders, they enjoyed everything that is growing and flourishing this weekend. With lunch and your own showpiece.
