Darter Michael van Gerwen did not succeed in reaching the semi -final during the US Darts Masters. The 36-year-old Vlijmenaar went down 6-3 against the Welshman Gerwyn Price on Saturday night in New York.
Van Gerwen failed during his duel with Price at a few important moments, but showed resilience. He impressed with a beautiful 121 output, but a 138-finish of ‘Iceman’ Price decided the game.
Fracture
It was his first participation in a tournament for more than a month for Van Gerwen. The triple world champion had brought a break after the relationship break with his wife Daphne.
In the first round, ‘MVG’ had settled in a great game with the American Leonard Gates.
Luke Humphries
The final victory on the US Darts Masters went to the Englishman Luke Humphries. He beat his fellow countryman Nathan Aspinall with 8-6 in the final.
