Ugwu came into action at the European Championship in all five matches. At the end of February last year he made his debut in the first division at Young Ajax. In total he came into action 32 times for the Amsterdam promises and scored one goal. Ajax trainer Francesco Farioli recorded the young man in his A-selection three times, but a debut in the first team was not forthcoming.
