Were Axl, Slash & Co. to blame-or the FC Bayern Stadium sound? Audiophile music listeners: Inside, enjoying music to say it with the dead pants, never for FC Bayern Munich go. In the stadium, more precisely in the Allianz Arena, we think. There was a concert there on June 20, 2025 Guns N ‘Roses. While the band delivered as usual (AXL voting discussions were left out), one thing caused one thing above all: exactly, the station sound.

FC Bayern Stadion sound: Well what now?

Has FC Bayern, or better: So the Allianz Arena no stadium rock sound on it? The stadium was finally designed for football and not for concerts, as “br24.de” noted in a Facebook post for the concert, under which the stadium sound was lively. The sound was “porridge” and “incomprehensible”, attested users. The supposedly suboptimal stadium sound had clouded the live experience with the California Sleaze rockers.

Others saw it very differently in the Facebook comments. In particular, those in the front rows found the sound good: “In the area right in front of the stage, the sound was absolutely top,” writes a user. “Sound was Front of Stage 1a,” says another. Apparently it was: the further away from Axl and Slash, the more problematic the sound.

Stadium sound: Can stadiums sound good at all?

It is nothing new that the spirits divorce with stadium sound. But can stadiums sound good at all? After all, it is important to overcome some physical hurdles. Because Sound puts a way back – and with huge Venues, this path is very different, depending on the seat. This means that the sound does not arrive at the same time, but slightly offset – which often results in more porridge as a board.

Organizers try to counteract with so-called Delay speakers. These are temporary boxes that are placed in the back of the stadium and reflect the sound delayed – so that it arrives as synchronously as possible to the audience. This principle is also used in the Allianz Arena. Technically, this now works surprisingly well, but cannot replace perfect acoustics.

FC Bayern Stadion sound: a conclusion

Basically, the matter was like at stadium concerts. I still remember the concert of the then quite freshly reunited Guns n ‘Roses in the Berlin Olympic Stadium – even then the sound was anything but a blessing. “Mood as bad as the sound,” headed “Spiegel.de” at the time. I found the former a little differently, but the stadium sound was not caressing the ears either. Or AC/DC once with AXL rose in the Viennese Happel Stadium – here too there was still a lot of room for improvement. As I said, the Allianz Arena is definitely not a temple for audiophiles, but these are most stages. Most GNR fans may have enjoyed the concert properly. In other words: good stadium sound for everyone? Not in this lifetime.
