The French luxury goods group LVMH has appointed Ludovic Pauchard to the new industrial and craftmanship director of the group and to the Executive Chairman from LVMH Métiers d’Art. He will take up his new position on September 1st and will report directly to Stéphane Bianchi, Managing Director of the group.
In his new role, Pauchard will be responsible for the further development of LVMH’s industrial and manual strategy. This includes in particular the ensuring of operational excellence along the entire value chain and the implementation of the group obligations in the areas of ethics, environment, social responsibility and entrepreneurial vigilance.
Pauchard’s task is also to mobilize the industrial directors of the individual LVMH brands for common goals, to coordinate transformation initiatives and to expand flexibility in production as a long-term competitive advantage.
As President of LVMH Métiers d’Art, he will also secure and develop the craft supply chains and the strategic know-how of the group. The aim is to preserve and promote the creative and qualitative standards of the LVMH brands in the long term.
“Due to the vertical integration of our activities, excellence in manufacturing and craft for LVMH has become a strategic imperative and a significant competitive advantage,” said Stéphane Bianchi. “With his impressive experience at Louis Vuitton, Ludovic will play a central role in the development and implementation of an overarching strategy that all of our Maisons includes.”
Ludovic Pauchard has been part of the LVMH group since 2003. He started his career at Louis Vuitton as a product manager and later took over the position of the Industrial Director for women’s shoes and the management of US production in California. Since 2019 he has been responsible for purchasing, development, supply chain, production, quality and operational excellence in 33 workshops with over 10,000 employees since 2019.
“Ludovic played a key role in Louis Vuitton’s remarkable growth,” said Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO by Louis Vuitton. “He has significantly supported the creative vision of our artistic direction and at the same time continuously improved the product quality. I am convinced that in his new role he will strengthen the industrial strategy across groups and drive innovations.”
