“The car left the highway in Gistel, drove towards Torhout, and could eventually be intercepted at 12.27 pm in the Tempelierstraat in Gistel. Upon the interception, there was a collision between the fleeing car and a vehicle of the federal road police. A police officer was slightly injured.
The driver was arrested and completed a positive drug test. The driver was also not a holder of a valid driver’s license and the vehicle was not insured and not registered, “said the public prosecutor.
