A 26-year-old man from Achtmaal died on Sunday evening in a serious accident on the Achtmaalseweg. He got off the road with his delivery van and bumped into a tree.
The road was littered with debris after the accident. Several emergency services pulled out, including a trauma helicopter. But help was in vain. The driver died of his injuries on the spot.
The police are investigating how the accident could happen.
