Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz won their semi-finals at the ATP tournament in the Westphalian Halle. Now they want a revenge in the final.
The victory in the semi -finals was a hard piece of work for Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz – at least in the first round. Against Francisco Cabral from Portugal and the Austrian Lucas Miedler, they even had to ward off a set ball before ultimately prevailing in Tiebreak with 8: 6. The first set alone lasted ten minutes longer than the entire semi-final match by Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori (6: 2, 6: 2 against Felix Auger-Aliassime/Denis Shapovalov).
In the second set, the German double only had problems: Four break balls had to ward off the Krawietz and his partner to create the 2-2. Cabral was openly shocked by this that he promptly made his following surcharge – with a double error. After that, Krawietz/Pütz left nothing to burn and ultimately moved into the final through a 7: 6 (8: 6), 6: 4.
Final duel reloaded
Bolelli and Vavassori are now waiting there on Sunday, which realized the final participation at a hurry. The Germans still have an invoice with the Italians. At the ATP tournament in Adelaide at the beginning of the year, they grabbed the title after three competitive sentences. That shouldn’t happen this time.
In the singles, Sinner conquerors Alexander Bucks and the Russian Karen Khachanov will meet on Saturday afternoon. Budik previously prevailed against Tomas Machac from the Czech Republic with 7: 6 (7: 2), 6: 3. He reaches 19 aces with only two double errors. Khachanov won his duel against Tomas Martin Etcheverry from Argentina in two sets with 6: 3 and 6: 2.
