Turku has once again gained new restaurants. Iltalehti presents five of them.

Turku calls itself the Finnish food capital. And the title is not at all unfounded.

Iltalehti visited five new restaurants that opened in the city. There is something for everyone. There is a lunch spot, a museum café-restaurant with a sandwich list and a Bistro of the French atmosphere. In addition, there are summer restaurants among the novelties: more eatery has been opened in the medieval street and the Pikisaari Pursiseura restaurant is open to everyone with new restaurateurs.

1. In the Market Hall

Vegetarian food, in particular, is Vive’s thing. According to restaurateurs, they taste the raw materials, nothing is hidden. Every dose is wanted to be an experience. Frant is mainly responsible for the food side and importing drinking.

Although Vive’s entrepreneurs have heard more than they will not sell wine for lunch, the practice has shown something else. Especially on Thursdays and Fridays, many people take a glass of wine with food.

Vive’s lunch and early evening prices are the same from € 14.5 to € 16.5. At lunch, the price also includes starter salad, bread and coffee or tea.

2. The atmosphere of the archipelago

In the past, the Pikisaari Pursise Society’s Lace Villa has only opened for private events, but now with new restaurant entrepreneurs, the archipelago atmosphere is possible for everyone. And it’s not long, a water bus from the center of Turku or by car directly to the restaurant yard takes about twenty minutes.

Like restaurant entrepreneurs in two other places in Kaskis and Kakolanu Rose, in Air, the food is made from the beginning, both broth and smoking. The raw materials are close and according to the season.

– The archipelago is inspired and the recipes are maritime. Turku and its surroundings are Finland’s food barn, so it is reflected in our raw materials, says a restaurateur Sanna Gullsten.

– Every time we opened the restaurant, we have wondered how to complement the riverbank, what is missing here, says the Voitto Brotherhood entrepreneur Janne Juvonen.

He states that not all restaurants can make a doses of 35 euros. According to Juvonen, they wanted a more cheap concept. A restaurant that is easy to get to.

There must always be a café in the museum, but Brunndel also gets food. The idea of ​​bread bistro was quickly shaped.

Juvonen describes that their list includes turbocharged sandwitches that are nutritious, filling and spectacular.

The list includes Skagen dogs, or hodar, with frustrated crab tails.

The classic is Tamago Sando, a Japanese egg bread. According to Juvonen, Fried Chicken Katsu Sando has been one of the most popular dishes.

Breads are fast food that is always made on request. Their prices are between 11 and 16 euros.

4. On the oldest street in Finland

The magazines of the art house are located on the medieval monastery Välikatu. This spring, the area of ​​summer restaurants has been opened in the area with a common large summer terrace. One of the restaurants is Sommar Bistro & Terrace.

– We strive to use as much local production as possible. We buy fish and meat from the market hall, vegetables are sought every day from the Turku Market Square. The whole staff comes to work in the morning through the market. There are big milk carts to transport the ingredients to the restaurant, says the kitchen manager at the Sommar restaurant Jessica Sorsakari.

5. French atmosphere
