Hurricane Photos from Thursday: Arrival and first bands
The Hurricane Festival 2025 has officially started. The early arrival traffic also led to traffic jams, but apparently it did not detract from the mood, as our hurricane photos from Thursday show.
Many visitors arrived early to find out on the premises for the warm-up program with acts such as 100 kilos of heart and room27. The festival start on Thursday evening also attracted numerous fans to the campsite.
Police take the first date on the day of arrival
The police were also present with emergency services on the day of arrival. At the control points on the Sottrum motorway exit and in Hamersen, ten drivers were pulled out of circulation due to drug use. Another road user was on the road without a driver’s license. In addition, two cases of ticket fraud were found and displayed. Around 500 civil servants are deployed across the entire festival weekend to ensure order and security.
The organizers and authorities are again relying on the proven traffic concept, which has been in use for nine years and has been continuously adapted. According to Sheila Schönbeck from the state authority for road construction and traffic, all potentially disruptive construction sites were completed or planned in good time. As possible, the most smooth journey to the festival site is to be made possible.
The Hurricane Festival is currently not fully sold out with around 65,000 tickets sold – so spending people still have the opportunity to get a ticket. In any case, the line-up with almost 90 acts promises a top-class program. Also included are The Prodigy, Green Day, AnnenMayKantereit, Apache 207, Olli Schulz, Ikkimel as well as Jan Böhmermann and the Ehrenfeld radio dance orchestra. Many concerts are also available in the live stream.
